We’ve all heard stories of people who have healed themselves through positive thinking. Although, I’m not a medical professional and cannot explain how this works, I do believe the mind is quite powerful and in some instances it can bring us out of despair.
How often have you heard someone say, “Just my luck!"?
Let’s face it, life is not easy, but we certainly don’t need to make it worse with negative thinking patterns that feed misery, unhappiness, and depression.
To begin using the power of the mind, we need to identify negative thought patterns that are getting in the way of our being happy, satisfied and successful. Once these patterns are identified, we can simply monitor and change negative thoughts by using positive affirmations—which is actually the flip of whatever negative thoughts we are experiencing.
Using positive affirmations is a quick and easy way to change negative thoughts. It is a practice that you can adopt right now. Try making your own positive affirmation by writing a statement about yourself, post it where you'll see it throughout the day (on a car visor, laptop, cell phone screen, mirror), then repeat it until you believe it.
This might take time and repetition. Remember to keep the statement positive and keep it simple, such as: I’m a loyal friend. I’m going to get that degree. I’m good at (fill in the blank).
Your mind is powerful, your thoughts are powerful, and by repeating positive thoughts repetitively out loud each day, you will begin to live your positive affirmation.
